"CHIPPED TEETH."

Nothin' better than a poster, even if it's not good for much of anythin' beyond lookin' at. Sometimes you just make things to sit there and be pretty, y'know?

This was my first design I'd made after I'd moved to Edmonton, and my first design I finished making using the Affinity software suite. I actually hadn't had access to Adobe software since April, so maybe this is my "act of rebellion" against a company that majorly sucks (don't sell your data to A.I. algorithms, folks; no company is your friend).

I realize as well that I make my best art especially well, perhaps a little TOO well, when I'm sorting through strange new emotions. Whether the emotions are colorful and bright, or dim and depressing, they charge what I make. I have a hard time coming up with completely unprompted designs otherwise. This one in particular came from a slowly growing pit of anxiety in my stomach I'd gained over a terrible toothache I'd had over the course of a couple months, and that anxiety had mixed with all the coping mechanisms I'd used during the many times I'd moved homes throughout my life. Sore gums paired with sore emotions.

This may be T.M.I., but this was made in an evening while my mouth felt like it was going to explode, and when it was finished, the pain and swelling went down. But alas, after even many months of proper dental care, I wasn't able to get in to see a dentist before I broke that tooth, rather embarrassingly, on a rice noodle. Miraculously my tooth broke clean and I'm now toothache-free. Take care of yourself and your teeth, y'all.
